Nook/Book Club: We will be reading books both on the Barnes and Noble NOOK e-readers and in hard copy form, and having a time for discussing the books we read as well as giving the kids practice writing book “reviews”, just like the professionals. The books we have chosen are geared toward middle and high school aged children. If there happens to exist a movie for the books we are reading, we will likely show them in the movie club.
Movie Club:We will be watching movies and discussing the genre of the movie, the intended audience, and different messages that the movie is trying to send. After watching the movie, we will have opportunity to write up a movie critique, just like the professionals! Most of our movies will be rated G or PG, but we will be showing some movies that are rated PG-13 as well.
